Wiecza Santos is the first defender of human rights coming to Eindhoven as a part of the Shelter City pilot project. Wiecza – a lawyer from Venezueala – helps people in Foro Penal who have been imprisoned arbitrarily. She is now in Eindhoven and eager to share her story with as many Eindhoveners as possible.

Tjeerd Ritmeester (PvdA) and Miriam Frosi (CDA) are organising a meeting where you can get to know the Shelter City organisation and Wiecza Santos.

Eindhoven Municipality became the 13^th city in the Netherlands to support Shelter City, last March. It is a worldwide movement that offers safe and inspiring spaces in the protection and support of human rights defenders at risk.

The objective of supporting this movement is to enable the organisations and its peace fighters, who often risk their life in the line of duty, continue their work on local change with renewed strength.
