Fotofesitival Eindhoven: Art vs Technology

May 18, 2023 @ 12:00 - May 21, 2023 @ 18:00

During this third edition, Fotofestival Eindhoven will confront AI. While the world is shocked by the raging possibilities in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Fotofestival Eindhoven embraces these applications and the discussion is sought in the various exhibitions on the Sectie-C site.

Art vs Technology

What can these two worlds learn from each other?

A juxtaposition that has been going on since the emergence of photo technology. Since photography as a technique also has many practical applications outside the art world. The technology itself also offers many challenges that people like. Due to the emergence of Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence, the battle between art and technology is more topical than ever.

Tool or art

We are at the beginning of the use of AI and it is important to ask questions such as:

    • Is technology still a tool or has it become an art form in itself?
    • What is the role of makers if AI can generate images in a few seconds?
    • What happens to copyright?

The location
