Bloemencorso Valkenswaard

September 11, 2022 @ 12:00 - 19:00

Corso Valkenswaard: the coziest dahlia party in the Netherlands

The Corso Valkenswaard runs annually, always on the 2nd Sunday of September, through the streets of Valkenswaard. A dahlia parade of 13 beautiful flower parade floats (12 meters long, 3.5 meters wide and 5.5 meters high) and 8 youth carriages together with street artists, show bands and harmonies from all over the Netherlands form a colorful experience for young and old. In 2022 even a renewed concept through the collaboration with Theater De Hofnar: Corso & Cultuur Festival. The opening of the culture season in Valkenswaard. And completely free to visit.

Corso Valkenswaard originated in the years after the Second World War: every year on September 17, children decorated their bicycles and carts with flowers and rode them through the streets. The Flower Parade has existed since 1953, as we still know it today. A big party to commemorate the liberation of Valkenswaard and to celebrate our freedom.

Corso Valkenswaard has a new theme every year. This theme is depicted in cars with a total of 2.5 million dahlias, in figuration, in street theater and in (live) music. Before, after and even during the stretching of the flower parade, activities are organized for young and old on the course. Enough for a day out in cozy Valkenswaard.

Come to Corso Valkenswaard; always the second weekend in September!
