Benefietconcert Turkije en Syrië

March 11, 2023 @ 20:15 - 23:30

€22,50

Charity concert for Turkey and Syria

On Monday, February 6th a terrible disaster completely changed the lives of tens of thousands of people in Turkey and Syria. Several strong earthquakes and aftershocks caused immense damage. Thousands of people have perished, and many others got injured. The whole of the Netherlands sympathizes with the people in Turkey & Syria. Many people from Eindhoven have relatives in the affected areas and are very concerned.

For this reason, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, the Philips Wind Orchestra and Music from the Orient have decided to organise a charity concert, the entire proceeds of which will be donated to the victims of the earthquakes via Giro 555.

The Philips Wind Orchestra and Music from the Orient will be collaborating in a performance featuring several soloists and musicians, bringing a varied programme of Turkish, Syrian, Kurdish, Greek, Arabic and Balkan songs. Among a range of repertoire, this collective will also perform some beautiful compositions by Turkish composers Ulvi Cemal Erkin and Fazıl Say. This concert brings people from different cultures and backgrounds together to find solace with one another.
