Sample Culture is organizing Open Your Mind for the seventh time. An international dance festival, with editions in the Netherlands, Russia and Japan, in which experimentation and creativity dominate.

Saturday’s improvisation battle is the highlight of the festival: a cross between a traditional street ‘dance battle’ and improvisation theater. Every time, surprising and refreshing elements are added to the battle rounds. Europe’s most creative ‘out of the box’ dancers come to Eindhoven to compete for the OYM-award and the honor of judging at the Open Your Mind edition in Russia.

On Sunday is the Showcase Battle. André Grekhov and Shailesh Bahoran, on behalf of Sample Culture and ISH, are looking for dance demonstrations that are the epitome of creativity. These can be pieces by professional companies, but also by students or amateurs. Dancers of all styles can apply. Only the most original and theatrical acts will be selected to step on stage this evening. An expert jury will decide who gets the title ‘Not Of This World’, the audience will decide who is the ‘Crowds Favorite’.
