Philips Museum opens doors for free with Museum
Kids Factory
A weekend full of science and technology in Hotspot Eindhoven
During Weekend of Science on 5 and 6 October, the Philips Museum will open its doors for free to visitors who want to discover science and technology with the whole family. Children can participate for free in the popular Museum Kids Factory, a creative workshop focusing on technology.
Science is everywhere and always around us, sometimes without realizing it. It is the foundation of our technology, medicine and our knowledge about the world around us. But how much do we actually know about the science of our daily lives? This year, during Weekend of Science (dutch: Weekend van de Wetenschap), we will reflect on the question: ‘How does it work?’
Museum Kids Factory
In the Museum Kids Factory, young participants learn about technology in a playful way. The creative workshop will be opened exclusively during Weekend of Science and for the first time outside the national school holidays; unique! Children aged 6 and 7 can tinker with various materials, a glue gun and 3D pen. Children aged 8 and over can even solder, saw and drill. Participants make, according to their own imagination, for example, a torch, a fire engine with flashing lights or an airplane with a rotating propeller.
Booking
Museum Kids Factory has fixed start times and the activity lasts 1.5 hours. Book soon, as there are only a small number of places available per time slot. Participation in Museum Kids Factory is free of charge on 5 and 6 October.
