The municipality of Eindhoven is a finalist of the European Capital of Innovation Award. The award is a prize of the European Commission to stimulate the capacity for innovation in European cities. At stake is an amount of 950.000 euros.
Eindhoven is amongst eight cities that have made it to the final round. Other finalists are Milan, Paris and Berlin. Eindhoven has made a bid book entitled: Enlightening Tomorrow’s Society. The municipality of Eindhoven will have an opportunity to present this to the panel of judges, this coming Monday.
This is the second time that the European Capital of Innovation Award has been held. The first time was in 2014, with Barcelona as the winner. The winner of this edition will be made public on Friday April 8, 2016.
