Eindhoven takes second place when it comes to the number of burglaries being committed here. Only Tilburg is more often visited by burglars. This is evident from the Risk Monitor for Home Burglaries, of the Association of Insurers.
Insurers looked at the number of claims that were assigned after burglaries. In Eindhoven: 5.4 claims per 1,000 inhabitants, which puts the city in second place. Tilburg only scores slightly higher, with 5.5 claims per 1,000 inhabitants.
The number of burglaries has decreased, though; both nationwide and in Eindhoven. In our city there were 14.7 percent fewer burglaries than a year before.
