“Pain to Power”, Immersive creative Experience.

August 27, 2022 @ 13:00 - August 28, 2022 @ 17:00

Can creativity save a life? Yes. 33-year-old Bulgarian abstract artist, self-care strategist, and mental health educator Sophie Yotova a.k.a. Octophina is showing her first solo exhibition in Creative Town, Eindhoven on August 27 and 28 from 1 to 5 pm. The exhibition is entitled “Pain to Power” and is an immersive experience at the intersection of art, self-care, and self-empowerment.

Octophina made her debut on the international art scene as an NFT artist in January 2022 with a collection released on the anniversary of her mom’s breast cancer diagnosis. Seven months later, she is sharing the entire body of work she created during her recovery from suicidal depression. Octophina started drawing in the summer of 2021 after getting diagnosed with bipolar disorder type 2 at the age of 32.

During the “Pain to Power” immersive experience, Octophina will use her art to take Eindhoven locals and weekend visitors on a journey through the 12 steps she took from the edge of suicide to the hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Octophina spent 15 months in recovery from suicidal depression after hitting rock bottom on May 8, 2021, when she fainted out of physical and psychological exhaustion in her kitchen on Rtraat 7, in Eindhoven.

The exhibition will take place this coming Saturday at Creative Town I.C.W, which has opened its doors to promote and support international women artists in the city of Eindhoven.
