Brabantsedag (the 63rd edition)

About the Brabantsedag, the biggest theatre parade of the year

After two years of absence due to Corona, the biggest theatre parade of the year is back.

On Sunday 28 August – the last day of the school holidays – 16 huge theatre sets and 2,000 actors will parade through the center of Heeze, the pearl of Brabant, after months of intensive preparations and rehearsals. The experience is provided entirely by volunteers. In 2019, the theatre parade and entertainment on the five Ambiance Squares attracted no less than 40,000 visitors from all over the Netherlands and beyond.

The Brabantsedag tells about the past of the Duchy of Brabant, including the Belgian part, by bringing the (cultural) history innovatively to life. This year’s theme for the 63rd Brabantsedag is ‘With verve’ (with fervour and verf in Dutch means paint). Each float building group chose a painter from the Duchy and was inspired by a painting by his hand, without literally portraying the work of art.
