Due to the bad weather, the ice rink was literally rained out on Friday. There wasn’t a soul out on the ice for its opening. Instead, people took refuge in the warm, dry cafés nearby. The ice rink on de Markt is open until 5 January 2020 every day from 11.00 to 23.00 for skating enthusiasts.

The artificial ice rink is over 550 square metres in size this year. In addition to the traditional ice rink café, a new element has also been added this year, a 25 metres long ‘skateway’. This is a track where skaters skate around and past the tent.

Activities on the ice
Various activities are planned again this year. For example, every Thursday evening skaters get a discount when wearing a Christmas sweater. Friday nights are disco nights and on Wednesday mornings toddlers can skate between 10.00 and 11.00.
