Strijp-T in Eindhoven is growing extensively. Only a short while ago just 400 people worked there. In a few years, it should be 7 500.
The city council has clear ideas about the former Philips grounds behind Strijp-S. The 25 hectares of land should be filled with creative and innovative manufacturing companies, which work together.
Only companies that fit this concept will be allowed to establish themselves on the terrain. These can be, for instance, innovative start-ups that have outgrown their accommodation on Strijp-S, or the metal printing company Additive Industries. But there will also be room for the ICT branch of Fontys (an institute for higher professional education), which will be located at the TQ building.
There are still some obstacles to be overcome, according to the political parties in the Eindhoven city council. One of the concerns is the accessibility of the former Philips grounds now more people will be working there, say both the VVD and GroenLinks.
At the end of the summer the city will present more detailed plans and regulations for the area.
