The second edition of the Young Brainport Summerschool (YBBS) started August 19th in Eindhoven. As in 2016, 40 gifted youngsters from 22 different countries get a chance to experience what Brainport has to offer in the areas of innovation and culture, as well as socially.
The young adults will be introduced to innovations, academia, industry and business, as well as participate in social and cultural activities.
Through offering such a varied program, the region wants to ensure its international ambassadors share their knowledge and experiences acquired at Eindhoven Brainport, with potential future talented students.
“Due to scarcity in the technological labour market, many companies in Brainport Eindhoven already have a shortage of well-trained staff. So an important task is, to attract the largest amount of talented future students from home and abroad. This summer school is one of the ways to increase the pool of talented students,” explained Yvonne van Hest van Brainport.
Attracting young talent is also mentioned as a spearhead in the Brainport National Action Agenda, which was presented to parliamentary party representatives in The Hague, on Wednesday the 5th of April.
