Flowers have been laid again at the ‘Oyster monument’ on the Mathildelaan. In memory of the victims of the bombing by the RAF on December 6, 1942. That is exactly 74 years ago.
In the Philips factories, which were the target of the attack, radio tubes were made for the German war industry. The bombing destroyed parts of the city centre and caused about 150 deaths.
Inside the bronze Oyster at the Mathildelaan you are able to see a model of the bombed Eindhoven from that time. The monument is there for five years now.
