Frying ‘oliebollen’ for Alzheimer Fund in Eindhoven

‘Oliebollen’ (deep-fried doughnuts) are being fried on 30 and 31 December in order to collect money for the Alzheimer Fund in Eindhoven. This event is taking place in an old bakery on the Barrierweg in Eindhoven. For 80 cents per ‘oliebol’, one can support the Alzheimer Fund.

This idea came from two friends, Carola van der Ligt and Nienke Scheerhoorn. The reason for this initiative is that Carola’s grandfather is suffering from Alzheimer. ‘He is not living at home anymore and in his current place of stay, he receives very good care. That is why we wanted to express our thanks by contributing to the Alzheimer Funds’.

The goal is to fry and sell approximately 550 ‘oliebollen’. Should one be interested in an ‘oliebol’ for charity, they can be ordered by e-mailing to oliebollenvooralzheimer@hotmail.com.
