On Friday, Koningsspelen (King’s Games) took place throughout the whole country. Every year more than 1,2 million children from over 6,000 schools participate in these games.

Around 2,200 primary school pupils throughout Eindhoven participate in the sports day. The day starts with a good, hearty breakfast. Each school organises its own sports day.

There was a special edition of the King’s Games at Tweelingen Primary school. The teachers organised a ‘glow in the dark’ version of the King’s Games. Ultraviolet lights and reflective lines ensured the children and all the activities were clearly visible.

The King’s Games originated in 2013 in honour of King Willem-Alexander. The goal is to show that a good breakfast and active movement is important and can be fun for children.
