DDW exhibition in old V&D building

Fashion designers from all over the world will set up in the old V&D building in Eindhoven city centre during Dutch Design Week (DDW).

Local entrepreneur Ellen Albers, who wants to create a ‘bustling design experience’ in the former department store, said she organised the exhibition to show ‘Fashion Promise’ – an event that began in the centre of visual art and design, the Krabbedans.

Albers adopted Fashion Promise and brought it to the Bijenkorf in 2016. Local and international fashion designers showcased their work during last year’s DDW.

The exhibition is temporary, Albers emphasizes. Property owners Pensioenfonds MN will allow Albers and her team access to the building until 31 December. Currently stripped bare and without electricity, Albers says the space will be transformed and given a safety check by the fire department in preparation for DDW.

Firefighters have already visited the location and approved Albers’ plan.
