A group of five Marketing Management students from Fontys Hogeschool have come up with an innovative solution for student room security.

Their invention, the ‘Latch Go’ is a portable door lock that can be mounted on inner doors without damaging any surrounding assembly.

Students often have difficulty securing their personal space as rooms inside student houses cannot be locked, and installing a lock is often prohibited, which makes student houses in Brabant a popular target for burglars.

The Fontys students have spent six months investigating the lack of security and privacy in student houses. They have developed a method that allows the portable lock to be installed without causing any damage.

The students hope the product, available on their website latchgo.fontys.nl, will contribute to safer student life.
