Night-trains should run through Brabant again! Eindhoven’s GroenLinks is in favour of reintroducing night-trains. The local political party put its proposal to Eindhoven’s city council.
According to GroenLinks, Eindhoven and other large cities in the province should meet and discuss if NS night-trains can be introduced again. The trains should run during weekends.
NS discontinued running late and early trains connecting the region to the Randstad, in 2015. According to NS, the costs of running the nocturnal connections were too high.
Tilburg and Den Bosch’ councils have already proposed meeting to discuss the issue. They want to see what is feasible.
GroenLinks wants to participate in meetings about a reintroduction of night-trains. It has asked Eindhoven to join the discussions. Representatives of the political party consider good public transport connections – also at night – important for business in the region.
