From March, De Splinter playground in Eindhoven is going to be a non-smoking area.

This, the largest playground in Eindhoven, is doing this in cooperation with the Longfonds. (Lung Fund). With this measure, the playground wants to provide a ‘healthy and safe environment for children’. A spokesperson for the playground also says that this should prevent children from getting burns and putting cigarette butts into their mouths.

Visitors who smoke can now go to specially demarcated places to do so. These places are out of the sight of children. The same applies to employees. Earlier, other playgrounds in the region also announced that they wanted to be no-smoking parks.
