“Kloffie en Co” relocates

“Kloffie & Co”, a local clothes-exchange shop, has found new premises after months of uncertainty. In Dutch, “kloffie” means outfit.

“Kloffie & Co” is a shop for people with a tight budget. It has relocated to the Mierloseweg in Geldrop. The shop used to be located along the Dorpsstraat in Mierlo. Here, it temporarily rented an old school building from the municipality.

The long-term future of the shop was in jeopardy. No new location was available. Now, with help of the municipality which included funding, the shop has found a new home.

Through “Kloffie en Co” some 40,000 clothes change owners on an annual basis. A simple exchange system and clothes-donations, ensure this impressive result.

The organisation behind the shop numbers between 150 to 200 members. Initiator Lizette Coolen explaind there is a real need for the idea behind this shop: “Some families come here and admit they can’t afford new clothes for their children without us”.
