In Eindhoven and Geldrop, the lights will go out in public places on Saturday evening to draw attention to waste of energy.

The ‘Nacht van de Nacht‘ campaign by nature and environmental organizations is supported in many places in the country. In Eindhoven, the LED screens on the Markt will be turned off, just like the lights on ten approach roads, at the VVV Brandstore and on the mast at bus station Neckerspoel. The Lichtnaald on the Beukenlaan also remains dark, as well as the illumination of the Catharinakerk.

Geldrop-Mierlo also participates. The church in Geldrop and the mill in Mierlo will not be illuminated on Saturday night.

According to the municipality of Eindhoven, the city is already consciously dealing with light. For example, lighting is dimmed at night to save energy. Companies can take part in the campaign and sign up via the website
