Dutch cabaret artist opens new senior meetup venue

The recent opening of the new location of the Ontmoet en Groethuys (Meet and Greet House) in Eindhoven was a festive event.

Famous Dutch cabaret artist, Karin Bloemen, performed on a small stage at 71a Jongemastate in Gestel. About 150 senior citizens watched, visibly amused. They were clapping and singing along with hits from the ’80s. All in honour of that new place in Eindhoven where seniors can come for a little ‘buzz’.

Getting seniors together
This is the aim of the Ontmoet en Groethuys. It is a place that makes it easier for seniors to get together. Activities are held regularly. Think of workshops, joint lunches or sporting activities.

The Ontmoet en Groetplein (Meet and Greet Square) is the predecessor of this initiative. The foundation behind it is the Vrienden van de Thuiszorg (Friends of Home Care). This foundation will be called Stichting Ontmoet en Groet (Meet and Greet Foundation) from now on.
