It is a chaos on the Indonesian island of Lombok.
Two earthquakes in a short time have led to great destruction. The counter stands at almost a hundred deaths. Foundation Anak Anak from Geldrop has been collecting money for the inhabitants of the island for ten years.
“The people have nothing, no clean drinking water facilities or clean toilets,” says treasurer Henk Schalen. “We are trying to give a piece of our prosperity to them.”
Hundred houses
Klaaske and Henk have been collecting money for Lombok for ten years. With that they have been able to build a hundred houses, thirty toilets, a primary school and a medical clinic. But now the focus is somewhere else. “Food, drinking water, medicine, all basic needs,” says Henk.
The Foundation has now raised 4000 euros. They do not have a final goal, they are happy with every euro that comes in.
