There is a wave of car burglaries in the city. Last week there were 29 car burglariess, of which 8 were in the parking garages at the Emmasingel, reports the Eindhovens Dagblad.
In any case, cars in parking garages are a prime target for thieves, writes the newspaper. The reason for that would be the convenience: there are many cars together in one place. And camera surveillance would only offer a false sense of security. Parking garages are often not liable for damage or theft as well.
On a national level, fewer and fewer car burglaries are committed. According to the ED, this wave in Eindhoven could be explained by a national gang that currently has targeted the city.
