There is a considerable increase in the number of hotel stays in Eindhoven.
In 2017, 917.000 overnight stays were booked in the city, 15% more than in the previous year. That is a growth of four per cent more than the national average.
“Since 2013, Eindhoven has seen a clear upward trend, partly fueled by a very recognisable city marketing strategy. Putting the city on the map, nationally and internationally, has had a big impact,’ says Councillor Monique List.
According to the municipality, the hotel industry is benefitting from the strong economic growth of the Eindhoven region. The clear city marketing plan is also paying off as seen in the number of day-trippers and tourists. The increasing interest of tourists from home and abroad for Eindhoven has been noticed for years. In terms of hotel stays, one can also see that more and more tourists, rather than businesspeople, are booking rooms.
The occupancy rate of all Eindhoven hotel rooms has also increased by 78%. In the Netherlands, this was only higher in Amsterdam.
