The municipality of Eindhoven has started the initiative ‘Eindhoven de skônste!’ to keep the parks clean.
In the summer months the parks see plenty of use. Park guards walk around to inform visitors and answer questions. For example, about barbecuing in the park, or where you can dispose of your waste.
In the Ton Smitspark, the municipality places additional braces on the waste bins as a pilot to temporarily increase the capacity. Two extra trash bags can be hung around the brackets. Visitors are of course expected to take their waste with them when the bins and bags are full. This way, the municipality and the park visitors together ensure that the parks stay clean.
