Muslims and Christians celebrate Iftar at Mevlana Mosque

Tonight, Christians and Muslims join to share and celebrate Iftar at Eindhoven’s Mevlana Mosque. The mosque is located at Paul Krügerlaan 4-6, Eindhoven.

Iftar is the evening meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset. The shared Iftar dinner is an initiative of the Foundation Turkse Gemeenschap Eindhoven.

The organization expects around one hundred people. In addition to Muslims, participants will include Christians, local residents and politicians.

‘Ramadan is a month for charity, fraternization, reflection and self-reflection. Unity and solidarity are central themes and it is a month during which Muslims work on relations within their environment’, according to the organization.

‘So tonight, everyone is welcome, Muslims and non-Muslims’, explains Arif Balci, member of this foundation.
