A red carpet Tuesday night for the actors and director at the premiere of the film Redbad in Vue cinema in Eindhoven. The film is largely recorded in the Eindhoven preHistorisch Dorp.
Actors Teun Kuilboer, Lisa Smit and Egbert-Jan Weeber were there, as was director Roel Reiné. For the film director it was also a bit like coming home during the filming: he grew up in the Eindhoven district Vaartbroek.
Redbad is about the violent battle of faith between the Frisians and the Christian Franks, which arises after the murder of monk Boniface. The central figure in the film is the Frisian hero Redbad.
The film is officially released in Dutch cinemas starting Thursday. Redbad’s rights have already been sold to fourteen countries.
