The FNV (trade union) has announced that bus drivers will go on strike indefinitely starting Monday.
What the consequences of the strike will be for the bus transport in the Eindhoven region is not yet known. According to Gjait Rameijer of Connexxion / Transdev, there are no concrete plans for regional transport yet. “Mediators are currently working to prevent a possible national strike.”
The strike is the result of the negotiations between the FNV and the employers. The drivers demand a better collective labor agreement with more pay and less work pressure. Previously, the drivers were also on strike.
Escape possibility
The FNV offers the employers a solution to the strike. If they come up with concrete plans for a better collective labor agreement this week, the planned strike will be canceled.
