Along with the changes in Vestdijk, people need to be aware that the Wal and Bilderdijklaan will be closed in the Stadhuis area from Monday.
The Dommel bridge on the Wal is being renovated. This is necessary as the bridge is outdated. It dates back to 1928. The Wal will probably be closed for the entire summer. If everything goes according to plan, the road can be opened again sometime in mid-September. Once the Dommel bridge is open, Bilderdijklaan will be closed.
The road behind the Van Abbe Museum will be a ‘slow-lane’. It will a two-way bicycle path, where cars will be allowed. Vehicles will be able to travel in one direction, from Stratumseind towards the Wal.
All bus traffic will be detoured via Vestdijk for the duration of the roadworks.
