Dress for Success has provided the 2000th customer of a set of suitable clothes.
The volunteer organization provides job seekers with few financial resources representative clothing for a job interview. The clothing comes from volunteers and sponsors.
Michaela was the 2000th customer. She has a job interview tomorrow at a cleaning company. Dress for Success searched with her for an outfit not only suitable for the function, but for her as a person as well.
Dress for Success has been in existence for eight years. Of the 2,000 people who were supported those years with clothing and advice, more than 60 percent found a job since then.
Starting small, Dress for Success has expanded into a large organization with multiple partners, including the municipality. Many companies also contribute their knowledge and expertise. There are regular workshops for job seekers in many areas. The driving force behind the growth is still Bertine Old Sluijs.
In 2015, her Dress for Success was nominated for a Appeltje of Orange. This is a prize that is awarded annually to three projects in the field of social welfare. Eventually, the organization didn’t win the prize.
