Kazerne and Philips Museum kick-off design year

Philips Museum and Kazerne (restaurant and gallery) in Eindhoven are kicking off the National “Year of Design” together. On the weekend of 11 and 12 February, both locations are fully dedicated to design.

During the “Year of Design” weekend, visitors can attend lectures. Afterwards, there will be several design presentations and exhibits to see over design from the past and design from the future.

Sean Carney (chief design officer from Philips), Tet Reuver (connected to Design Academy Eindhoven) and Hans Robertus (former senior director Philips Design) will be some of the people giving lectures. Ralph Wiegmann, CEO of International Forum Design will also be there. This organisation presents the IF Design Awards each year.

The national theme of the year is “Van Mondriaan tot Dutch Design”. There will be activities across the country in 2017 around this theme.
