South-east Brabant to get more ambulances

Five new ambulances will come into service in southeast Brabant, along with improved distribution of service, the GGD confirms.

Currently the region hits response time targets 93% of the time, while the national standard is 95%. Emergency calls are increasing while the ambulance service’s resources remain the same.

The new measures are expected to be implemented by 2019, with fifteen paramedics and as many drivers also being assigned.

Costs will be covered by insurance companies, the Department of Health, Welfare, and Sport, and the GGD. The region’s 21 mayors are set to meet on Thursday to reach a final decision.
