Roze Salon new meet up for older LGTB

The first meet up for older LGTB took place at de Roze Salon (pink salon) in Eindhoven. Last Thursday the café was opened in Pand54.

Roze Salon will be the meeting place for lonely older LGTB persons. It is intended to be a place where lesbian, homosexual, transgender and bisexual persons of 50 years and older can meet up. And there is a need for this. Five to ten percent of Eindhoven residents consider themselves to be LGTB and many feel lonely at times.

The pink salon, de roze salon will serve as the place to meet and talk and partake in various activities, chat with the other persons play games, listen to guest speakers and just feel welcome and have their voices heard. The initiative for its establishment came from COC Eindhoven, the organisation which looks after the concerns of homosexuals. Besides the meeting place there will also be a telephone help line which would allow persons to share but also report any wrongdoings they have encountered.
