The twenty-third edition of Bloem en Tuin in Nuenen has as its theme this year a photography competition. The forty photos entered will be displayed along the length of the route of Bloem en Tuin.
Organiser John Geelen explains: ‘Five of the photos were selected through Facebook, and the remaining thirty-five were chosen by a professional jury of photographers and image editors.’ Entrants were asked to take a colourful nature photo.
The photography competition is not the only new element; there are also new trends on show at the event. Geelen: ‘We’re seeing many sustainable gardens this years, and the David Ostin rose is also popular. Design too is a recurring theme, and we collaborate with the Design Academy.’
And visitor numbers, says the organiser, show that the visitors are enthusiastic. ‘We can say that this is the best edition ever.’
Bloem en Tuin continues through Sunday 7 August, when the winner of the photography competition will also be announced.
