Practical bicycle tests will be taking place in Geldrop and Mierlo during this week. The tests are intended for groups seven and eight of the primary schools in the municipality. Today the tests are taking place in Mierlo and two days later, they will be taking place in Geldrop.
This action is part of the Brabants Verkeersveiligheidslabel (BVL) – an organisation which takes care of traffic education in primary schools and is organised by Veilig Verkeer Nederland (Safe Traffic Netherlands). The action is done in cooperation with the police and the municipality. Initially, before the practical tests, theory exams had taken place, in order to ensure that pupils could follow traffic rules.
During the tests, pupils will be watched carefully, in order to see whether they are complying with the traffic rules. As soon as the practical tests are over, the pupils will be receiving their diplomas. Pupils who succeeded with no mistakes in their theoretical, as well as in their practical tests, will have that information reflected in their diplomas, which will state that they graduated with honors.
