A large majority of the inhabitants of Geldrop-Mierlo voted against the treaty with Ukraine. 62.4 Percent of voters entered versus on the voting form.
Almost 37 percent of voters were for the treaty in a referendum on Wednesday. The rest of the votes were blank or invalid.
The attendance in Geldrop-Mierlo was a few tenths above the national average. 32.5 Percent of the more than 30-thousand people who could vote did so. That amounts to 9,813 votes.
The referendum would be declared valid with a turnout of 30 percent. That is achieved. It is not yet clear what will happen now, and if the government takes over the NO.
