No rent increase for Eindhoven tenants

Eindhoven residents with a rented home will have no added interest on rent this year. In Eindhoven, the rents are not increased by several percent, as is the case in many other Dutch municipalities. Thus agreed by the municipality and housing associations.

The federal government allows increase of rent. That is an adjustment of inflation plus 1 percent on top. The Eindhoven corporations don’t use that opportunity.

Woonbedrijf, Trudo, Thuis and Wooninc thus say to maintain the affordability of rental housing in the city. They also mention availability of housing, housing of refugees and construction of care homes for the elderly as priorities for the coming period.

Eindhoven has a total of 39.000 rental housing. That’s about forty percent of the total housing in the city.
