Balloons at Technical University Eindhoven. Not for the introductory week, but because of the opening of the first supermarket on campus.
The supermarket mainly focuses on ‘now’ and ‘soon’ shopping. Like bread rolls, juice, soft drinks, small snacks, fruit and salads.
The supermarket works with 100% self-checkout. Customers scan their products themselves and pay without the intervention of a cashier. There is staff in the shop of course.
Actually, the university super market should have been opened sooner, but the construction works were delayed. TU/e is, after Utrecht, Amsterdam and Rotterdam, the fourth Dutch campus where Spar University is opened.
The shop is open Monday to Friday from eight to eight and in exam periods also on Saturdays.
