The students of the Technical University of Eindhoven are ready: they leave for China to compete in the robot soccer world championship. Chip producer ASML is also going to compete at the tournament.
The team of bus manufacturer VDL, a third team from the region, has decided not to participate in the competition for soccer robots.
The TU/e team is currently still world champion after their win last year in Brazil. Two years ago, the tournament was still held in Eindhoven. Next year, the University will organize its own robot soccer competition.
The so-called Robocup will be held from 17 to 22 July in the Chinese town Hefei.
