The parking meters in the inner city will be replaced in the next few months. The current meters still use the ‘chipknip’ (smart card), but this card will be done away with as from 1 January.
A total of 200 devices will be replaced by new meters. The municipality is first going to replace the parking meters that are used most. These should have been replaced before the end of this year. The new meters will accept cash as well as debit cards.
