A new school will be opening its doors on TU/e Grounds upcoming Monday. The school will be called: DOE040, which stands for Democratic Education Eindhoven (in Dutch). The students’ age will vary from four to eighteen.
The school will be operating on a different concept than most schools. There will be no fixed curriculum. Instead, the needs of the students will be taken into account and implemented accordingly.
This unique method of teaching is based on the thought that if students want to learn a certain subject, they will do it on their own accord anyway.
The school’s location is in the same building which houses the childcare centre, De Tuimelaar. Interested parents are welcome to join an information meeting upcoming Thursday.
