There is still fraud committed in land purchases by the municipality of Nuenen. This is evident in research bureau KAFI Integrity’s report, which has studied the case.
This has been reported today by Eindhovens Dagblad. The report remains confidential, but has been entrusted to Nuenen councillors.
Who is responsible for the fraud and who has benefited is still unclear. Not everyone wanted to cooperate with KAFI’s investigation. To get the answers to these questions, further criminal investigation is required. The municipality of Nuenen will submit the complaint of forgery and embezzlement of public money next week, the paper writes.
In total, it would seem that the city paid some 4.7 million euros too much for land purchases. It appears that valuation reports have been tampered with. This came to light when it seemed that the original valuations did not match the versions that were archived.
