Philips LED lamps will soon be used in the cultivation of vegetables in Somerset, New Jersey.
Philips is going to cooperate with the U.S. company Green Sense Farms, which will be growing vegetables in eight-metre-high towers with the use of Philips LED lamps.
In order to make the various vegetables grow well, Philips has developed different light concepts for each type of vegetable. Thus, the vegetables will be administered the proper amount of LED light, so the quality and yield of the vegetables will be improved.
