A common swift nest box with swift call is going to be placed on Het Apollohuis, located at the corner of Tongelresestraat and Fazantlaan, today. The organization MUS (Met U Stadsprojecten) took the initiative because they want to try and get the common swift back to the city.
To attract the birds, a special ‘swift call’ box is placed next to the nest boxes. It is an automated system playing the sound of screaming swifts and using solar power.
More swift nest boxes will be placed on Valklaan and Merellaan.
