The municipality of Nuenen has committed fraud worth millions of euros in fraudulent land transactions. The total sum is 4.7 million euros.
It is not clear who committed the fraud. This investigation is still on-going.
In recent months, the municipality noticed discrepancies with certain purchases and sales of land. In one transaction, there was a difference of nearly five million euros between original taxation reports and those that the city had listed.
The city has started an investigation through the ‘KAFI’ organisation.
