A premier of the Rock Musical ‘Rent’ will be held in a hall at the Tu/e campus today. The musical was created by theatre organisation ‘Het Nieuwe Theater’ and by the student theatre club ‘Doppio’.
It is not the first time that a musical has been staged at the TU/e grounds. In 2011, Moulin Rouge was staged, but for this time around, Rent was chosen.
Rent is a true classic in the musical industry. The show was on Broadway for 12 years. The story is about eight artists in New York around the early 90’s.
Because Eindhoven has developed such an international environment, the theatre groups have decided to perform the musical in English.
Rent will be showing until 22 December.
