A sufficient number of households signed up for glass fibre in Stratum, according to Ons Net Eindhoven. More than 75% of the homes will be connected.
Once Stratum is connected, Eindhoven will have more than 65.000 connected households. According to alderman Depla, the city is ahead of other cities; ‘The city of Eindhoven belongs to the smartest cities of the world and is also working on the largest digital pilot of the Netherlands.’
Residents will soon be informed about the installation. A contractor, together with the resident, will then determine the exact location of the network connection in every household.
Glass fibre cable allows households to get superfast internet and clearer TV reception. Various providers visited every household in Stratum over the past months in order to present their package deals.
Eindhoven neighbourhoods that have already been connected to glass fibre optic cable are Blixembosch, Tongelre, Woensel Oost, Meerhoven and Schrijversbuurt.
