It is going to remain dark on highways A58 and A2 near Eindhoven starting next week.
The street lights along these two highways (between Eindhoven and Den Bosch and Eindhoven and Tilburg) will be switched off.At highway junctions, such as Leenderheide and Batadorp, the street lights will stay on, as well as at other locations where lighting is necessary for safety reasons. The lights are turned off at 21:00 or 23:00 hrs until 5:00 hrs the next morning.Budget cuts at Rijkswaterstaat (Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment) are the reason street lights are turned off at night. Highways street lights in other parts of the country have been switched off for a while already.
